ZEN JAPAN | The inn where you can experience Japanese culture

Introduction

This is the only inn in Nara where you can experience traditional Japanese culture (limited to only one couple per day). 

Nara is easy to visit because it is close to famous tourist destinations like Osaka and Kyoto, and it is not crowded, so you can relax.  Nara has a longer history than Kyoto, and fortunately traditional scenery remains throughout the town. 

 At the inn, you can experience traditional Japanese culture such as tea ceremony, flower arrangement, kimono dressing, and making Japanese sweets.  

Dinner is Irori-yaki, a unique Japanese dish in which river fish and vegetables are grilled over a charcoal fire in a sunken hearth.  

Breakfast is vegetarian cuisine. It is a unique Japanese dish for ascetic monks. It is made with seasonal ingredients, without meat or fish.  

We are convinced that experiencing Japanese culture and getting to know Japan in depth will make your trip a one-of-a-kind experience.

Kimono (Japanese traditional costume)

You can enjoy these activities wearing a Japanese traditional costume.  

Kimono is very beautiful and functional. Wearing traditional costumes while experiencing Japanese traditional art is a valuable opportunity to experience the relationship between them. We promise that you will have a luxurious time that you cannot experience anywhere else.

Sado(Tea ceremony)

The tea ceremony is a traditional Japanese culture that allows people to enjoy a peaceful moment through tea.  

During the experience you can learn basic etiquette and how to brew tea. Furthermore, you will understand Japanese hospitality while a casual tea ceremony

Kado (Flower arrangement)

You will enjoy being able to use your own sensibilities while feeling the Japanese aesthetic sense and sense of the seasons. 

You can experience authentic Japanese aesthetic sense: -Expressing the sense of seasons, the beauty of nature, and an abstract sense of aesthetics -Arrangement and choice of flowers -Appreciating the Beauty and Fragility of the moment -Evoking emotion and tranquility in viewers

Making Wagashi(Japanese sweets)

Wagashi means traditional Japanese sweets. Many of them are made of traditional Japanese ingredients such as red beans and mochi rice and they are healthy. You can enjoy the fun of making your own Japanese sweets.

Shojin ryori is a meal for monks in training. This is a traditional Japanese dish made for Buddhist training.   

It becomes widely popular as a healthy food in the world. It has the characteristics of valuing the seasons.  

Instead of using animal-based ingredients, we mainly incorporate plant-based ingredients such as grains, vegetables, seaweed, and mushrooms.
